Bio
After a successful career as a software engineer in the tech industry, David Smith fueled his passion for filmmaking by becoming a Director of Photography. With his technical expertise and extensive knowledge of all things digital, David has filmed numerous narrative and documentary short films, as well as corporate pieces and commercials. His film credits include “I Love You Houseplant” which won best in its category as well as 2nd place Overall at the 2011 Albany Film Festival.
Most recently, David was the Director of Photography on the highly-successful comedy web series, The Friend Zone, as well as directed two episodes. With the same creative team, he is currently filming a comedy web series about the end of the world, Armageddon, Inc., that will launch in 2011.
David holds a BS in Computer Science from Drexel University and a Certificate of Directing for Film from Berkeley Digital Film Institute.
